DAILY POST
The NNPP (New Nigeria Peoples Party) has stated that it will only consider Atiku Abubakar’s merger proposition if he supports Rabiu Kwankwaso to become Nigeria’s president in 2027.
The party stressed that teaming up with Kwankwaso is crucial for Atiku to remain politically relevant in Nigeria.
The NNPP’s spokesperson, Yakubu Shendam, made this statement in response to Atiku’s call for opposition political parties to merge.
Atiku had expressed concern about the APC’s perceived move towards a one-party state and urged opposition parties to unite and challenge the ruling party.
Shendam described Atiku’s call for a merger as a reactive measure, stating, “This is like medicine after death.”
He added that any future collaboration should not be based on emotions, and the NNPP believes that Kwankwaso has the capacity to lead Nigeria in 2027.
The party encouraged Atiku to support Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, stating, “We are calling on Atiku as an elder brother to close ranks with Kwankwaso if he wants to be relevant in 2027.”
“This is like medicine after death. If there is any future collaboration, it should not be as a result of emotions. We are going all along because we have a gladiator who has the capacity to take over Nigeria.
