King Charles has spoken out for the first time since his shocking cancer diagnosis.
The 75-year-old monarch is currently undergoing cancer treatment and recovering from a recent prostate operation. Buckingham Palace confirmed the King’s diagnosis on Monday (February 4).
The King has since released his first statement since his diagnosis was made public, recalling “special memories” of a trip as he said he was “sorry” he could not celebrate a special occasion in person.
Despite his health battles, King Charles found time to release a heartfelt message to Grenada on the anniversary of the country’s independence. He praised the nation’s progress over the past five decades, highlighting their leadership in democracy, human rights, and environmental challenges.
His full statement included the inspiring words of Grenada’s national anthem: “Aspire, build, advance!” The King said: “My wife and I hold such special memories of our visit to your beautiful ‘Spice Island’ five years ago, and of the warm and touching welcome you extended to us.
“Then, as whenever I have met Grenadians anywhere in the world, I was struck by your resilience, the strength of your community and by your shared determination to make a positive difference.
