VIA FIJ:

Edo State police command is not aware of the purported arrest of Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

X users shared some videos on Wednesday afternoon, revealing that the party chairman had been arrested in Benin, the capital of Edo State, over allegations of fraud.

When FIJ called Chidi Nwabuzor, the police spokesperson in the state, he said he was not aware of the arrest.

“We are not aware of any arrest. My phone has been buzzing since morning with inquiries. Since he is a national chairman, it is possible that people from Abuja arrested him, but we don’t know,” he told FIJ.
