Senate leader ,Opeyemi Bamidele , has raised concerns about what he perceives as a recurring pattern: northern senators consistently trying to oust southern Senate presidents without due process.
During a plenary session, Senator Bamidele, who represents Ekiti Central, expressed his apprehension regarding what he sees as repeated attempts to destabilize the leadership of the Senate. He emphasized the need to address this issue promptly to uphold the integrity of the Senate.
Senator Bamidele’s comments came following allegations made by Senator Abdul Ningi regarding the purported inflation of the 2024 budget from N25 trillion to N28.7 trillion, with claims that the executive is implementing the inflated figures.
