The name Gerard Abiassi may not ring a bell among non-Celestial Church faithful.
But the Ivory Coast-based prophet and informatics engineer is one man whose story of his spiritual revelation about the founder of the Celestial Church of Church, Rev. SBJ Oshoffa, has travelled among Celestial Church members across the world.
In 1985, Abiassi , whose father worked closely with the founder , had, as a little boy at the time, told the founder of the church that he dreamt he had an accident before leaving his home on a Sunday morning that year. His dream eventually came to pass. But that is not the story.
In an exclusive chat with Rifnote, he revealed how he was seen as evil because of his gift of prophecy during his days in high school.
He narrated a particular case where he told his teacher that an accident loomed, telling him what to do to avert it.According to him, the accident eventually happened after his message was ignored.
He said:” When I was in high school, I wasn’t seen as a normal person. People began to see me as evil after I foresaw my teacher’s accident. Initially, I was reluctant to tell him, but my best friend encouraged me to tell him. I eventually told him, but he didn’t take my message seriously.
“The accident happened. My story went round the entire school. They began to see me as evil. They were avoiding me. But after two years, the teacher came back to me. He started asking me questions about the Celestial Church. He became very curious and interested in everything about the church.”
