Simon Ekpa’s arrest justified, says Nigerian presidency

President Bola Tinubu has said the intervention of the Finish government, with the arrest and de­tention of Simon Ekpa was well deserved, especially in his role of promoting divisiveness.

Tinubu said his government has zero tolerance for actions and statements that could lead to divi­siveness among citizens.

The Nigerian President spoke when he received the Letters of Credence from the Finnish Am­bassador to Nigeria, Ms Sanna Selin, at the State House.

He said the Finnish authori­ties’ intervention was timely, be­cause it safeguarded the nation’s integrity and mitigated an action that threatened peaceful coexis­tence.
