FBI has gained access to Thomas Matthew Crooks’ phone in Trump assassination attempt

The FBI has successfully accessed the phone of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin who attempted to shoot former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, while the Secret Service is conducting a separate review of its security protocol. The investigation is being treated as an assassination attempt and possible domestic terrorism.

Nearly 100 interviews have been conducted by the FBI with law enforcement, event attendees, and other witnesses, as well as a review of hundreds of digital media tips.
