Donald Trump disclosed that President Joe Biden once declined his offer of a golf game with a $1 million prize. Despite an attempted assassination, Trump has continued with his election campaign rallies.
During a rally in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Trump told the audience: “I said I will take you to any course you want… I would give you $1 million if you could break 100 in a game of golf.” He added that Biden “turned me down.”
Claiming he then altered the offer, the GOP presidential candidate said: “Then I said, I’ll give you ten strokes a side… I’ll give you one million dollars if you could beat me. He had no chance.”
Trump remarked, “They talk a good game, but it’s all talk.”
The topic of golf came up during the first presidential debate in early June between Biden and Trump, before Biden announced his withdrawal from the race and endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.
Addressing concerns about their age and physical fitness, Trump boasted of winning two club championships and two regular club titles, stating that achieving this requires being “very smart” and having long-range hitting ability. “He doesn’t do it. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match; he can’t hit a ball 50 yards,” Trump quipped.
