Hunter Biden is set to be sentenced on November 13, right after the election, for gun-related charges. He could face up to 25 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
According to The Hill, a federal judge will determine Hunter’s sentence after he was found guilty in June of lying about his drug use on a 2018 gun purchase application. He was convicted of making a false statement in a firearm purchase, possessing a gun while being an unlawful user of addictive substances, among other charges.
President Joe Biden has stated he will not pardon his son for these charges.
Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, whose office handled the case, commented: “Ultimately, this case was not just about addiction, a disease that haunts families across the United States, including Hunter Biden’s family. This case was about the illegal choices the defendant made while in the throes of addiction.”
