Almost immediately after Trump’s victory, betting sites began releasing odds for who will become the 48th president of the U.S. Many sites favor Vice President-elect JD Vance—Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson gives Vance a 40 percent chance of being elected in four years. According to SportsBettingDime’s William Hill, Vance has a 25 percent chance.
Donald Trump will not be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States until January, but betting sites are already taking wagers on who will be the 48th. We know it won’t be Trump, who will be term limited in 2028.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, who was one of a handful of people vetted to be Kamala Harris’ running mate, is listed among the favorites. He was asked Thursday about a potential run for the White House.
“We’ll see what the future holds in the future,” Beshear said. “But right now, my only focus is on this job, is about making sure I continue to stand up for Kentucky and all Americans to ensure that their rights are respected.”
Bookies.com published betting odds Thursday, and Beshear and Harris are tied with Nikki Haley for the seventh-best odds. Other names on the list include various politicians, and even a few athletes.
Reports suggest that there are bets being placed on the probabilities of the next US Presidential candidate from both, the Democratic and Republican parties, and things have gone as far as predicting the winner of the 2028 US elections. According to a New York Post report, betting odds are in favor of JD Vance, the Republican Vice President-elect, who has been phenomenal in the entire election campaign alongside Donald Trump, without whom this thumping victory may not have been possible.
With this, there are calls for JD Vance being the 48th US President, with a 25% chance of a win (+300 odds), according to SportsBettingDime. Vance is next in the line of succession to the Presidency as the VP-elect, but there are also major chances of him running in the US elections of 2028, with Donald Trump’s quota of two Presidential terms to be over by 2028.
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Gov. Josh Shapiro are also being thought of as viable candidates in the US elections 2028, and steady bets are being placed on them as well. But, for now, among everyone, Vance is being seen as the best bet to become the next POTUS.
