NEW YORK POST
The Prince of Wales has spoken out following the murder of his former nanny’s stepson, Edward Pettifer.
Pettifer, whose stepmom was Prince William and Prince Harry’s nanny Tiggy Pettifer, was identified as one of the 14 victims killed in the New Orleans terrorist attack on New Year’s Day.
In a statement, the future king, 42, said: “Catherine and I have been shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Ed Pettifer. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Pettifer family and all those innocent people who have been tragically impacted by this horrific attack.”
Pettifer, 31, died from “blunt force injuries” after Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove a rental pickup truck down Bourbon Street in the French Quarter just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, per the BBC.
Pettifer was the oldest child of ex-Coldstream Guards officer Charles Pettifer and Camilla Wyatt. The couple – who also share son Harry, 29 – parted ways before Charles went on to marry Tiggy.
