The Trump administration has deported 17 alleged gang members to El Salvador, despite legal challenges over using the Alien Enemies Act for such removals. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the group included members of the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs, though no specific crimes or convictions were mentioned.

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele shared a video of the deportees being taken to a maximum-security prison, calling them “murderers” and “child rapists.” Meanwhile, legal challenges to the deportation policy continue, with hearings scheduled for the coming week.
