Rivers State Minister, Nyesom Wike, has launched a scathing attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of being dishonest and untrustworthy. Wike stated that Atiku’s recent interview was “full of lies,” insisting that the former PDP presidential candidate manipulated facts about the party’s past decisions. According to Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, the minister has no regrets about opposing Atiku in the 2023 elections.
Olayinka further disputed Atiku’s claim that he selected Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate based on a committee’s recommendation, arguing that Atiku ignored the party’s preferred choice. He declared, “It, therefore, gladdens our hearts that we have been able to establish that Atiku lied and he is not a man to be trusted.” This latest exchange highlights ongoing tensions within the PDP, showing that the rift between key figures remains unresolved.
