A group of Tunisians has demonstrated in front of the administrative court of the capital, asking for the abolition of the presidential decree that introduces, starting on Wednesday, the mandatory presentation of a vaccine certificate (green pass) to access public and private offices and other closed spaces, believing the measure “harms civil liberties”.
Amnesty International asked Tunisian authorities to suspend the implementation of the decree, saying it “violates rights”, asking to change the dispositions “that violate labor rights and freedom of movement guaranteed by international law”.
The NGO “I Watch” warned about the “existence of violations of the booking system Evax”, requesting to delay the implementation of the presidential decree to a later date to be determined.
Some 5.5 million out of Tunisia’s 11 million residents were fully vaccinated as of December 20, according to the health ministry.
