‘He might have made a few slips, but it’s normal’ – Pedro defends Tinubu’s fitness

A former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro has defended the physical and mental fitness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

While dismissing concerns about Tinubu’s fitness, Pedro said the APC candidate is fitter than him and Nigerians have nothing to worry about.

Speaking on Monday during a live appearance on Channels Television’s special election programme, The 2023 Verdict, the former Deputy Governor said the pressure, noise, and general atmosphere at campaign rallies might be responsible for slips and gaffes attributed to Bola Tinubu.

He however added that such is not peculiar to the APC candidate neither is it uncommon across the world hence Nigerians should still cast their votes for him in the February 25 presidential election.

The APC chieftain also said opposition parties present doctored versions of what Tinubu said to members of the public.

In his words, “Asiwaju is very fit, he is fitter than me. He is energetic and he is everywhere.

“I was with him two days ago in Abuja with other leaders. I was pleasantly impressed by his energy, his vigour; he has not been hiding. We have seen him speak before in Nigerian economic summits, town hall meetings in Kano, Rivers and Lagos.”

Opposition Parties Trying To Magnify His Slips

Speaking further, Pedro who is also a member of the APC presidential campaign council, accused opposition parties of trying to blow slips by Tinubu out of proportion to make it appear to the public that he is unfit.
