The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has explained why he always takes his campaigns for the 2023 presidency to the market.
He described the markets as the place that reinforces his strategy about taking Nigeria from consumption to production and meet those that matter in achieving his aim.
According to Obi, functional markets are the roots, and visiting them allows him to hear the problems of traders, business people, industrialists, and agriculturalists so as to be able to make promises of a better time for them.
Naija News reports he stated this on Monday night during a Channels TV interview.
In the words of the Labour Party candidate, “My reason for going to markets is simple.
“I have always said we need to be able to go back from consumption to production, you can’t talk about doing that without roots to the functional markets.
“I need to interact with traders and business people, and visit industrialists, agriculturalists hearing what is their problem and be able to promise them of better times to come.”
