Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has criticized a penalty decision that he believes cost his team valuable points in their 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park. The penalty, awarded in the 50th minute for a challenge by Myles Lewis-Skelly on Jack Harrison, was converted by Iliman Ndiaye to equalize for Everton.

Arteta expressed his disbelief at the decision, saying, “I’ve seen it 15 times. There’s no way that’s a penalty.” He further explained, “There is not enough contact and the contact starts outside. Inside there is nothing.”

The draw leaves Arsenal 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool, with the Gunners’ title hopes taking a hit. Arteta acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, “We have to accept the point” and emphasized that his team must focus on securing consistent victories to remain competitive in the race for the Premier League title.
