SSG Samuel Jatau narrowly escaped an ambush by suspected terrorists in Bokkos LGA.
On April 6, 2025, Samuel Jatau, the Secretary to the Plateau State Government (SSG), narrowly escaped an ambush by suspected terrorists in the Hurti community of Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA). The assailants attacked his convoy during his visit to areas affected by recent violence. However, they were repelled by the superior firepower of his security detail and retreated into nearby forests.
Expressing his distress over the incident, Jatau stated, “I lack words to express my sorrow and anger. We just tested what these communities are feeling. We were almost ambushed. I was looking at my phone in the car when I suddenly heard gunshots.”
In response to the escalating violence, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who visited Plateau State on April 6, assured that the federal government is actively addressing the security breaches in Bokkos LGA. He pledged that those responsible for the recent attacks would face justice.
