The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman (North-East), Ali Bukar Dalori, has advised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abandon his ambition of contesting for the presidency in 2027. Dalori made the statement during a press briefing on Monday, urging Atiku to consider other ways of contributing to national development.
“It is better you drop the idea of contesting for president in 2027,” Dalori said, emphasizing that Atiku’s repeated bids for the presidency have yielded little for the North-East.
He further suggested that Atiku should instead support developmental initiatives in the region and back younger candidates for future elections. The comment comes amid rising political speculations as parties begin to shape their strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
