We will work closely with all stakeholders to keep Kwara safe. Security is not the job of the police alone—it is a collective responsibility,” he noted.

The new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr. Adekimi Ojo, has pledged to lead a disciplined, professional, and community-driven security administration. Speaking during his maiden press briefing in Ilorin on Thursday, Ojo declared zero tolerance for crime, vowing that “there would be no sanctuary for criminals in the state.”

Highlighting his commitment to community policing, the CP emphasized collaboration with local actors including vigilante groups and traditional rulers. “Security is not the job of the police alone—it is a collective responsibility,” he noted.

Ojo, who previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Kwara, promised to build on existing structures and tackle police misconduct. “I will not hesitate to bring any officer found guilty of misconduct to face the full weight of the law,” he warned.

He expressed gratitude to the IGP and the Police Service Commission, calling his appointment “a call to greater service.”
