We cannot serve Obasa for over a decade and at the same time serve his son.

A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the Concerned Citizens of Agege, has issued a warning regarding potential internal conflict if the reinstated Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, attempts to impose his son, AbdulGaniyu Obasa, as the next chairman of Agege Local Government.

In an open letter, the group emphasized that while AbdulGaniyu has the right to contest for the position, any form of imposition would be unacceptable. They advocate for free and fair primaries, allowing the residents of Agege to select their preferred candidate.

The Concerned Citizens highlighted their dissatisfaction with Obasa’s prolonged influence in the area, stating, “We cannot serve Obasa for over a decade and at the same time serve his son.” They described AbdulGaniyu as a “political lightweight” and expressed concerns about the democratic process being undermined.
