The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shut its national headquarters in Abuja following the death of its Director of Administration, Hon. Lateef AbdulRaif Adeniji. Adeniji, who was kidnapped alongside three family members in the Chikakore area of Kubwa on January 27, was reportedly killed despite a ₦50 million ransom payment.
His brother’s wife was also killed during the abduction, with her body later discovered in Niger State. The kidnappers had initially demanded ₦350 million for their release.
A memo dated April 10 from the Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagba Abel, announced the closure of the party’s secretariat. Staff were urged to observe “sober reflection and prayers for the family and the loved ones.”
The APC has yet to issue an official public statement on the incident. However, a party official confirmed the abduction and subsequent death, stating, “Yes, it’s true. But this is not something we want to discuss openly.”
