The International Bar Association Section on Public and Professional Interest (IBAS) has demanded a N300 million refund from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) following the relocation of its annual conference from Rivers State to Enugu.

In a statement, IBAS said the refund covers expenses incurred after Rivers was initially awarded hosting rights. “We had begun logistical and financial preparations based on NBA’s initial commitment,” the statement read.

The NBA has yet to officially respond to the demand. The conference, which attracts legal professionals nationwide, is now scheduled to hold in Enugu amid controversy over the change in venue.
