Police nab suspect over diversion of 900 bags of cement bound for Borno

The trailer, loaded in Obajana, Kogi State, was diverted to Garima Bosso, where it was intended to be sold illegally. Abdullahi Basiru, the motor boy, was arrested in connection with the crime.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a motor boy in connection with the diversion of 900 bags of cement originally destined for Maiduguri, Borno State. The arrest was made on April 5, 2025, at about 9:30 a.m. by a police surveillance team from Bosso Division, who intercepted a trailer with registration number NDG 161 XA at Garima Junction, Bosso. The trailer, loaded in Obajana, Kogi State, had been diverted to Garima Bosso for illegal sale.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was a motor boy to the driver of the truck, Ibrahim Yusuf, who is at large…”

The suspect, Abdullahi Basiru, was charged to court and sentenced to ten months imprisonment without an option of fine.
