Olmo’s talents took from Barcelona’s famed academy to Dinamo Zagreb, before winding up at RB Leipzig in 2020. The 24-year-old has since established himself as a menacing attacker who can play out wide or in an advanced midfield role.
Injuries have played their part this season, but even when fit, Olmo has been limited to just 10 Bundesliga starts as he approaches the final 12 months of his Leipzig contract. United supposedly smell an opportunity to strike, and German outlet Bild claim that he could be available for just £35m.
Leipzig will reportedly be under pressure to raise funds in the transfer market if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Marco Rose’s side currently occupy fourth spot, but Freiburg are one point behind and poised to capitalise on any mistakes.

Olmo is thought to be ‘leaning’ towards taking on a new challenge this summer and his entourage are already weighing up various transfer proposals. United have supposedly made their first move by asking about the Spaniard’s future plans.
The Leipzig star has only notched six goal contributions in the Bundesliga this season but Ten Hag may feel as though he could get the best out of him in Manchester, with several players in United’s ranks showing noticeable improvements under the Dutchman’s guidance.
It remains to be seen exactly where Olmo would slot into Ten Hag’s plans. Bruno Fernandes already lays claim to the attacking midfield spot at Old Trafford, while there is plenty of competition for minutes out wide.
