‘I’m yet to be rewarded’ — Bonfrère Jo cries out 30 years after Olympic gold
Former Dream Team coach Bonfrère Jo, 80, says the Nigerian government has failed to recognise or reward him 30 years after leading Nigeria to its first Olympic football gold at Atlanta 1996.
The 80-year-old Dutchman also revealed that the Olympic gold medal he received after Nigeria’s historic triumph in Atlanta was stolen, alleging that it disappeared while in the custody of a team official.
