Arsenal fall 3-1 to Real Betis in disappointing Dublin friendly

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Betis in a pre-season friendly at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, with defensive lapses proving costly.

Rodrigo Riquelme opened the scoring after a Kepa Arrizabalaga error before Nelson Deossa doubled the advantage with a long-range strike. Piero Hincapie briefly reduced the deficit, but Pablo Fornals restored Betis’ two-goal cushion before half-time.

The second half produced no further goals, while Arsenal’s evening was worsened by an injury to academy prospect Louie Copley on his senior debut.
