Tottenham humiliated as Brentford cruise to 3-0 win in Premier League opener
Tottenham Hotspur suffered a disastrous start to the Premier League season as Brentford cruised to a 3-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. According to BBC Sport, Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring before Vitaly Janelt doubled Brentford’s advantage, with Michael Kayode adding a third shortly after half-time.
Spurs, who have spent around £237m this summer, failed to register a shot on target in the first half and struggled to cope with Brentford’s intensity. Igor Thiago later missed a penalty after hitting the post, compounding a miserable afternoon for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
