‘They are politically lazy’: Wike slams APC governors over Rainbow Coalition resistance

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has described All Progressives Congress governors as “politically lazy” over their opposition to his Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 elections. The governors, led by Imo State’s Hope Uzodimma, had vowed not to support any alliance that could undermine President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Tuesday, Wike dismissed the concerns, insisting his support for Tinubu did not mean abandoning his party or blocking other parties from fielding candidates. He said opposition to his political activities predates his Tinubu endorsement, dating back to his tenure as Rivers governor. Citing governors Soludo, Adeleke and Otti, Wike argued presidential support does not stop parties from presenting other candidates, according to Vanguard.
