Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 season as 16-year-old Max Dowman scored twice in a 4-2 Carabao Cup third-round victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

According to BBC Sport, Dowman opened the scoring in the seventh minute after winning possession, combining with Eberechi Eze and producing a composed finish.

Noni Madueke doubled Arsenal’s advantage before half-time, while Dowman struck again two minutes after the restart to put the visitors firmly in control. Mikel Merino then added a fourth in the 58th minute.

Ipswich pulled two goals back through Anis Mehmeti and Chuba Akpom, but Arsenal comfortably held on to secure their place in the fourth round. Dowman became only the second 16-year-old to score twice in a match for a Premier League side in any competition, after Wayne Rooney achieved the feat for Everton in 2002.
