Dominik Szoboszlai scores stunning 30-yard volley as Liverpool beat Tottenham 3-1

Dominik Szoboszlai produced a stunning late strike as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at Anfield to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round. According to the Daily Mirror, Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a superb finish into the top corner. Cody Gakpo then doubled Liverpool’s advantage shortly after half-time, continuing his impressive start to the season under new manager Andoni Iraola.

Tottenham, managed by Roberto De Zerbi, responded through Conor Gallagher, whose header set up a tense final 20 minutes. The visitors pushed for an equaliser and were denied by a late save from Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

However, Szoboszlai ended Tottenham’s hopes in spectacular fashion, smashing a ferocious volley from around 30 yards into the net in the closing seconds. The victory sends Liverpool into the fourth-round draw, while Tottenham suffer another setback after making eight changes to their starting XI.
