APC group to Wike: You can’t back Tinubu and oppose other party candidates

The APC Grassroots Governance Organisation has warned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike against sowing division within the ruling party ahead of 2027, rejecting his “Rainbow Coalition” as unaffiliated with the APC, according to Sahara Reporters. The warning followed Wike’s clarification that his support for Tinubu’s re-election excludes other APC candidates.

The group, in a statement by Mukthar Taminu, said Wike’s stance “blurs the distinction” between backing Tinubu and backing APC candidates, calling it “sabotage dressed up as mobilisation.” It questioned Wike’s authority given his continued PDP membership, insisting the Progressive Governors Forum remains committed to campaigning for both Tinubu and party-sponsored candidates.
