The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos has placed a travel ban on all its candidates until after the 2027 general election.

Cornelius Ojelabi, APC chairman in Lagos, announced the ban on Friday during the inauguration of the Tinubu-Hamzat campaign council at the party secretariat in Ikeja, according to TheCable.

“No candidate is allowed to travel outside the country until after the general election,” he said, urging a campaign devoid of hatred, thuggery and violence.

Ojelabi said the party would adopt a decentralised grassroots strategy, targeting five million of Lagos’s projected seven million votes through coordinated mobilisation across the state’s 13,565 polling booths.

Also speaking, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat said the party’s campaign would be driven by data and records rather than emotion, citing reforms in taxation, infrastructure and security under the Tinubu administration.
