Former Premier League star escapes serious injury after freak warm-up accident

Former England international Andros Townsend escaped serious injury after a frightening collision with a pitch-maintenance vehicle while warming up for PT Prachuap’s Thai League match against Pattani.

According to The Sun, the 35-year-old former Premier League winger was taking part in warm-up drills when he ran into the path of a roller being used to level the pitch. Townsend appeared not to notice the machine before the collision sent him to the ground, with part of his body ending up beneath the equipment.

His teammates immediately rushed over to help as he remained on the turf following the incident.

Despite the alarming scenes, Townsend avoided a major injury and was able to remain among the substitutes.

He later entered the match during second-half stoppage time, playing the final moments as PT Prachuap secured a 3-0 victory over Pattani.

Townsend previously played for Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle and Luton Town in England.
