Osimhen to miss Nigeria’s AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau due to a muscle injury. According to TVC News, the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed on Sunday that the Galatasaray forward remains unavailable as he continues his recovery.
Osimhen suffered the injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Istanbul Basaksehir on September 4, scoring before being substituted in the 33rd minute. The 27-year-old had made a strong start to the season, registering six goals and two assists in four appearances. Nigeria face Madagascar on September 25 before travelling to Guinea-Bissau on September 29.
