Michael Carrick hits back at Cunha over Man United fitness claims

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has rejected Matheus Cunha’s suggestion that his team lacked energy during Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Fulham. According to GOAL, Cunha said Fulham appeared to show greater intensity after the break, with the hosts covering six kilometres more than United during the match.

Carrick, however, dismissed concerns over his squad’s fitness, insisting United finished strongly and continued pushing for an equaliser.United rescued a point through Cunha’s 89th-minute deflected strike after Lisandro Martinez’s own goal had put Fulham ahead. The result leaves United 12th with five points from five matches, their poorest Premier League start since 2014. Carrick now has the international break to prepare for the October 10 home meeting with Tottenham.
