Trump administration launches ‘Trump TV’ days after banning CNN, Politico

The Trump administration has launched a 24-hour video channel called “Trump TV: The Essentials Station,” days after President Donald Trump barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, according to a report by The Mirror.

The service launched Monday night at 7pm ET, with the White House promoting it as a way to view the administration’s “biggest moments all in one place.” Deputy Assistant to the President, Kaelan Dorr, described it on X as a “livestream of the Administration’s greatest hits, unfiltered.”

The announcement drew swift backlash, with critics and social media users branding it “state-run” or state-controlled media and drawing comparisons to China, North Korea and Russia.

Former Capitol Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell called it “official state-run media,” while others invoked Kim Jong Un in their criticism.

The launch follows Trump’s Friday decision to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico over what he called “fake” coverage, a dispute that escalated Monday when other networks suspended pool coverage in solidarity after CNN was denied access to cover his UN trip.
