Trump renames ‘Artificial Intelligence’ to ‘Super Intelligence’

US President Donald Trump has announced that his administration will refer to artificial intelligence as “Super Intelligence,” arguing that the new term better describes the technology.

According to Punch, Trump made the announcement on Tuesday during his opening remarks at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Trump said the word “artificial” makes the technology sound fake despite its capabilities, adding that US government documents would henceforth use “Super Intelligence” instead.

He expressed hope that other countries would adopt the terminology, abbreviated as “SI.”

The announcement followed an online poll in which Trump asked followers to choose alternatives to Artificial Intelligence, including “Superior Intelligence,” “Extreme Intelligence” and “Supreme Intelligence.”

Trump also cautioned that despite the technology’s capabilities, authorities must remain careful.
