China ranks first in global maths ranking, US 27th…

China has topped the latest global mathematics ranking, while the United States placed 27th, according to results from the PISA 2025 assessment.

ZeroHedge reported that China recorded an average mathematics score of 612, ahead of Singapore with 563, Macao with 549 and Taiwan with 546.

Japan placed fifth with 525 points, followed by South Korea and Hong Kong, both scoring 522. Estonia was the highest-ranked European participant, placing eighth with 508.

The United States scored 463, matching the OECD average, while Canada ranked 11th with 485 points.

More than 760,000 15-year-old students across 91 countries and economies participated in the assessment, representing about 33 million students worldwide.

China’s result represented participating jurisdictions Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
