EFCC declares former pension boss Abdulrasheed Maina wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared former Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms chairman Abdulrasheed Maina wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.

According to Peoples Gazette, EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale announced the development on Wednesday, releasing Maina’s photograph and asking the public for information about his whereabouts.

The commission identified Maina as a 61-year-old indigene of Biu, Borno State, and urged anyone with useful information to contact its offices nationwide, the police or other security agencies.

Maina headed the pension reform task force between 2010 and 2013 during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The development comes about five years after Maina was convicted of money laundering and racketeering and sentenced to a cumulative 61 years in prison by a federal court.
