Lagos Police shut down fake wine factory, arrest suspect

Lagos State Police operatives have arrested a 48-year-old man, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, and sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce adulterated alcoholic drinks in Yafin, Badagry, Sahara Reporters reported.

According to a statement issued by the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday, operatives acted on information from members of the public before raiding the facility. Adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, wine labels and production utensils were recovered. The items were taken to the police station for investigation, while Hilary remains in custody.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operatives and urged residents to provide timely information to security agencies. The police said further investigation would determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged production.
