Alexander Isak dismisses Alan Shearer’s demand as ‘irrelevant’

Liverpool striker Alexander Isak dismissed Alan Shearer’s call for him to take Liverpool’s last-minute penalty during his first return to Newcastle United as ‘irrelevant’ according to Liverpool Echo.

The Sweden international, who faced boos following his £125m transfer to Liverpool, said penalty decisions are team matters, not for media or fans.

Isak praised teammate Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored the spot-kick in their 2-2 draw at St James’ Park. Isak has since scored four goals in four Premier League games and is set for Sweden’s UEFA Nations League matches.
