Anambra releases fresh document on alleged unpaid workers’ entitlements under Obi

The Anambra State Government has released a document it says supports claims that workers were owed salary arrears dating to Peter Obi’s administration.

According to Daily Post, the document shows approval for N363.381 million as a second tranche for workers, pensioners and next of kin of two defunct state agencies.

Dated May 24, 2025, it was signed by then Head of Service Theodora Igwegbe and addressed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

It states that the payment arose from settlement terms reached in February 2024 and was due for disbursement in 2026.

The government released the document after Obi denied borrowing from any bank during his tenure, although the document concerns alleged unpaid worker entitlements rather than bank borrowing.
