Jay-Z sexual assault accuser recants allegations, admits she never met rapper

A woman who previously accused Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter of sexual assault has fully recanted her allegations, stating in a federal court filing that she has never met the billionaire rapper, according to Reuters.

The declaration was submitted as part of an ongoing legal dispute in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The anonymous woman, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, admitted that her original claims were false and cleared Carter of any wrongdoing.

“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” the woman wrote in statements filed in court. She added: “There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter.”

Following the signed declaration, Carter’s legal team moved to drop her as a defendant in their defamation lawsuit.
