Trump rejects seven-day ceasefire offer from Iran, prepares for post-midterm air strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected a proposed seven-day ceasefire from Iran and instructed aides that he expects American military bombings against Tehran to resume following the upcoming midterm elections, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Under Tehran’s proposed arrangement, Iran offered to reopen the crucial Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear negotiations. In return, Washington would be required to lift its ongoing blockade of Iranian ports and ease heavy sanctions targeting Iranian oil exports.
