After becoming impotent, my husband accused me of infidelity – Woman tells court

A woman, Bolatito, has asked a Grade A Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, to dissolve her marriage to Olajide, accusing him of impotence, physical assault and attempting to strangle her.

Tribune reports that Bolatito told the court that her husband became aggressive and violent after allegedly becoming impotent, frequently beating her and sometimes throwing her out of their home at night.

She alleged that Olajide once covered her face with a pillow, grabbed her neck and attempted to strangle her while they were asleep.

Bolatito said, “We went to bed on one of the nights and my husband attempted to murder me.

“He covered my face with a pillow, grabbed my neck and almost strangled me.

“I struggled with him and was able to escape.”

She also alleged that her husband accused her of infidelity, denied her access to their children and prevented her from retrieving her belongings after she fled the home.

Bolatito sought custody of their children and financial support, while Olajide agreed that they should separate.

The court president, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the case for defence.
