Bruno Fernandes ruled out of Portugal clash after ‘complicated’ injury

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been ruled out of Portugal’s Nations League clash with Norway after suffering a “complicated problem”. The 32-year-old midfielder was substituted late during Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Wales, with Portugal manager Jorge Jesus revealing that Fernandes had been playing through pain in recent matches.

According to the Daily Mail, Jesus said he preferred not to risk the midfielder in Oslo, hoping to have him fully fit for Thursday’s meeting with Denmark. Fernandes has played every minute of United’s five Premier League games this season and also featured in their Champions League victory over Sabah.
