Ruud Gullit claims Marcus Rashford is ‘too upset’ to play for Man Utd under Carrick

Former Chelsea midfielder Ruud Gullit has questioned Marcus Rashford’s desire to play for Manchester United under manager Michael Carrick following his failed permanent move to Barcelona. Speaking to Football365, Gullit suggested the England winger could still be upset after Barcelona opted against triggering their £26million purchase option following his loan spell last season.

Rashford, 28, has yet to score or provide an assist in six appearances for United this campaign. Gullit said Barcelona was the “love of his life” and admitted he was unsure whether Rashford still wanted to play for United. The winger has since returned to Carrick’s squad.
