Tinubu departs Paris, heads home to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has ended his working vacation and departed Paris, France, for the homeward journey to Nigeria, Vanguard reports.

The president’s aircraft is expected to touch down at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later this evening. He chose to fly to Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, with plans to attend the premiere of a movie on Independence Day honouring the winner of the June 1993 election at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre.

Tinubu will also hold strategic meetings with political leaders in Lagos over several days ahead of the 2027 elections.

The president departed Abuja on August 30, spending a week in London before moving to Paris, where he held a private dinner with President Emmanuel Macron and met business leaders including Vincent Bolloré and First Holdings Chairman Femi Otedola.

His trip also produced a $7 billion deep seaport and Blue Marine Economic Zone agreement between the Ogun State Government and DP World. Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja once his Lagos engagements conclude.
