Alleged fake PFIPC: Adeniyi Adeyemi appears in Abuja court
Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused of creating and operating a purported Federal Government agency, appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday for arraignment following several unsuccessful attempts.
According to Naija News, Adeyemi was brought into the courtroom around 2:33pm by an officer of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre.
The case was filed in November 2025 after Adeyemi’s arrest the previous month following a petition by President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Police charged Adeyemi alongside two others, identified as Femi and Anu, who remain at large, with eight counts of conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Prosecutors alleged the defendants conspired to forge official documents, including a purported presidential appointment letter, State House letterheads and documents relating to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Adeyemi was also accused of falsely presenting himself as PFIPC Director-General, an allegation he has denied.
Previous arraignment attempts were delayed by his absence, lawyers’ requests and the judge’s official engagement elsewhere.
